Our Proud History
A truly representative and
proudly South African family business, Slingsby &
Gaidien (S&G) Construction is owned jointly by
partners John Slingsby & Kader Gaidien. The
partners met while serving their apprenticeships at
Slingsby & de Jager, a highly respected construction
company co-founded by John’s grandfather (also John
Slingsby) in 1945. When the company was forced to
close in 2002 after trading through the recession in
the late 90’s, John Slingsby Junior vowed to one day
restore to it’s former glory the company that his
father, uncle, and grandfather had helped to build.
